CN Glass - Glass processing

and virtually eliminates the green tint inherent in standard clear glass.

Glass processing will turn a piece of glass into a worktop or splashback, a table top, a shower enclosure or a piece of furniture.

We take accurate templates to ensure the processed glass fits exactly where it is required. Glass can be textured or coloured, painted, sandblasted or silvered to turn it into a mirror. Glass may be cut into shapes and have polished or beveled edges, have drilled holes or internal cut outs for switches or sockets.

Glass is a beautiful material and glass processing transforms raw sheets of glass into high performance products.

By cutting, toughening, laminating, decorating or polishing and incorporating processed glass into sealed units, glass can now be used to provide safety, security, passive solar control, thermal and acoustic insulation, as well as to look beautiful and introduce light to interiors.

Care for your glass

CNGlassGlassBalustrade

Do Not place very hot or cold items directly onto the glass surface
Do Not sit or stand on the glass
Do Not scrape sharp objects across the glass or hit the glass with hard, pointed objects.

Glass Balustrade

Using sheets of plate glass to enclose a balcony, terrace or staircase, whether it is for commercial or domestic use will provide a beautiful and contemporary addition to a property. Glass will maximize the available light and view creating a modern and light appearance to its surroundings. The glass panels can appear almost seamless or may be supported by stainless steel poles.

Glass Splashback

Using glass as a surface in a kitchen or bathroom as an alternative to tiles will look stunning because glass will reflect light back into the room and with a smooth surface it will be easy to clean. The glass used is Toughened so it is safe to go behind the hob.

Glass is sprayed in just about any colour you would like to match your colour scheme. Templates are taken of the area and cut outs will be made for sockets, light switches etc. The idea is to have only the minimum of joins in the glass so that the finished look is of a smooth, clean surface and it is adhered to the walls using silicone. The glass can be sprayed in just about any colour to match the colour scheme of the room.

Ultra clear glass that has a low iron content can be used, it is almost colorless and virtually eliminates the green tint inherent in standard clear glass that is most noticeable in thicker glass or on the exposed and polished edges. If low iron glass is not used it is likely that the green tint in the glass will alter the colour of the paint applied to the back.

Shower Enclosures

Shower enclosures or screens in a wet room have a template taken for the exact size and shape required and then the Toughened glass is installed using a U channel for the glass to sit into and brackets to hold the glass secure where required.

UV glass bonding can also be used to good effect in a shower because it will make a watertight seal that is transparent between the glass and the use of U channel and brackets will be kept to a minimum.

Glass UV Bonding

Examples of uses for UV Glass Bonding:

Glass UV Bonding is a process that uses adhesive that is cured by Ultra Violet (UV) light to bond the edges of glass together. When the adhesive is exposed to UV light it will become extremely hard and the finished bond is transparent.
Ultra clear glass that has a low iron content can be used; it is almost colorless and virtually eliminates the green tint inherent in standard clear glass that is most noticeable in thicker glass or on the exposed and polished edges.
